100 remarkable years: We say goodbye to Henry #Kissinger, a great mind known for his wit and clever remarks on so many topics, but also his deep understanding of the importance of diplomacy and friendship. We had the honor to meet Henry Kissinger in Leipzig on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Fall of the Wall in 2014. He was joined by former Secretary of State James Baker. A memorable day for us all. Kissinger played an outstanding role in U.S. foreign policy, notably as the National Security Advisor and Secretary of State under Presidents Nixon and Ford. His #realpolitik approach and involvement in key #diplomatic initiatives left a lasting impact on global affairs during the Cold War era. Henry Kissinger and former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt shared a close and influential relationship. Both men, known for their intellectual depth, formed a strong bond during their respective tenures in government. They collaborated closely on diplomatic matters, particularly in navigating complex issues of the Cold War. This partnership contributed to the strengthening of U.S.-German relations and addressing key international challenges of the time.Henry Kissinger, was born in Fürth, Bavaria. Henry Kissinger emigrated to the United States in 1938. He fled Nazi Germany with his family to escape persecution due to their Jewish heritage. The circumstances of their emigration were shaped by the rise of the Nazis, and their move to the U.S.#leipzighouston ... See MoreSee Less
